Winding Down

the final judgment - end times

The other day, my neighbor remarked to me that he was so content with his home and property that he would be staying there for the next 25 years. I thought that was a rather odd statement given the times we live in. And although I know only God knows the exact day and hour of Christ's final coming, do we really have 25 more years? Maybe, maybe not, but then again, who knows what may happen in the interim.

Yeah, yeah, I know, the end times have been continuously predicted in the past, since just after the Resurrection. But keep the following in mind.

First of all, for all the seculars and lukewarmers out there, the chief climatologist of Canada stated in 2016 that the damage to our climate cannot be reversed. It is too late. That being said, it will only get worse. And consider this ominous headline,'15,000+ Scientists Sign Environmental 'Warning to Humanity'. Oh, and by the way, climatological events are predicted in the bible for the end times.

“Learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things, know that he is near, at the gates. Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." (Matthew 24:32-35, N.A.B.)

Secondly, the Divine Mercy message is in fact a message for the end times. It should also be mentioned that this is the first time, that I know about, that God has told us that we are actually in the end times NOW! So, if you believe in the Divine Mercy message (fyi: the Divine Mercy devotion is Church approved), you have to believe what our Lord states about the end times is true. But who knows how long the end times will last?

Speak to the world about My mercy ... It is a sign for the end times. After it will come the Day of Justice. While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fountain of My mercy.  (Diary 848)

"I bear a special love for Poland, and if she will be obedient to My will, I will exalt her in might and holiness. From her will come forth the spark that will prepare the world for My final coming" (Diary, 1732).

Thirdly, the Year of Mercy has recently ended. Never before has there been a Year of Mercy in the Church. And after mercy, comes justice, but when?

Fourthly, Sister Lucia (Fatima seer) was quoted as saying, "The Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families...that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary."

Fifthly, there are many Christian scholars who believe that bible prophecies about the end times are coming true in precise and dramatic fashion. The resurgence of Israel for example. A compelling prophecy movie is the documentary: The Coming Convergence , or Convergence: The End Of The Age Part I

Sixthly, there are Popes such as Pope Saint John Paul II and Pope Francis who have made prophetic statements in preparation for these times.

"We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has ever experienced. I do not think that the wide circle of the American Society, or the whole wide circle of the Christian Community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-church, between the gospel and the anti-gospel, between Christ and the antichrist. The confrontation lies within the plans of Divine Providence. It is, therefore, in God's Plan, and it must be a trial which the Church must take up, and face courageously." (Pope John Paul II, 1976)

Even if you look at the world through secular eyes, just look at population and other trends such as technology, industry, environmental, etc., over the past 150 years; what conclusion can you draw?

"By his coming, which never ceases, the Holy Spirit causes the world to enter into the 'last days', the time of the Church" (CCC 732)

“But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone." (Matthew 24:36, N.A.B.)

"Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into. So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come." (Matthew 24:43-44, N.A.B.)

1. Pope Leo XIII on October 13, 1884 (exactly 33 years to the day, before the miracle of the sun at Fatima) – had a vision about satan (the Lord granting satan more power within a 100 year period to try and destroy the Church). But we don't know when that 100 year time frame started?
2. Our Lord started appearing to Sister Faustina (now Saint Faustina) in 1931.
3. 400 years before, in 1531, Our Lady appeared to Juan Diego. 500 years from that will be 2031. And 2031 will be 100 years from the time Our Lord started appearing to Saint Faustina in 1931 with the Divine Mercy message, a message for the end times! But we are in no way saying that 2031 is the year of His Second Coming!
4. At Rianjo, Spain in August 1931, Our Lord communicated to Sister Lucy His dissatisfaction with the Popes and the Catholic bishops failure to obey His command to consecrate Russia. He said: Make it known to My ministers, given that they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My requests, they will follow him into misfortune.
Here is what happened to the King of France:
On June 17th, 1689,  Jesus told Sister Margaret Mary Alacoque (now a saint) to tell the King of France to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was never done, and exactly 100 years later on that same day, June 17th, 1789, the French National Assembly voted to strip the King of his power in the act that would begin the French revolution. The King at that time, tried to consecrate France, but it was too late, and the King was beheaded and France became the godless state which it still is today.

It would seem that the period of 100 years is significant and meaningful, but does not necessarily mean or signify the ultimate end.

Note: This article in no way was intended to solidify a day and hour of His second coming. What we do know for sure is this: we are in the latter days, and it is important for people to repent now before it is too late.

What you can do:

1. Contact your nearest Catholic parish (if you are not already a Catholic). They will prepare you to become BAPTISED if you have not been properly baptised already.

Baptism is birth into the new life in Christ. In accordance with the Lord's will, it is necessary for salvation, as is the Church herself, which we enter by Baptism. (CCC, 1277)

Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. (John 3:5 N.A.B.)

If you are a Catholic, you may want to:
1. NOT miss any Sunday masses (or Saturday vigil in its stead) unless you have a very good reason;
2. Go to Confession monthly, or earlier if you have committed a mortal sin;
3. Learn your catechesis, and have an understanding of basic apologetics (in order to defend the fatih);
4. Pray, pray, pray: Morning Offering; Grace before meals; The Angelus at noon; at 3 o'clock, pray for mercy for all the poor sinners, especially those who are about to die and on their way to eternal damnation; Mental Prayer; pray at least 5 decades of the Holy Rosary (and wear the Brown Scapular); the Daily Examination of Conscience; and an Act of Contrition, continually praise and thank Him.
5. Follow the Divine Mercy devotion;
6. Read scriptural passages daily (or upcoming readings);
7. Evangelize! Share your faith (which also helps to increase our own faith), which is a gift from God to be shared;
8. Take part in Eucharistic adoration for at least one hour each week;
9. STOP worrying. It is just that you are used to the ways of the world (the world that is winding down). Set your mind on things that are in Heaven from now on (as St. Paul reminds us in Col 3:2), and realize that growing in faith and grace doesn't happen overnight.

“There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on earth nations will be in dismay, perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves. People will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.” (Luke 21:25-28, N.A.B.)

Most people cannot discern the sign of any time because they lack faith. So, what is glaringly obvious - for example: abortion is killing babies, is not so obvious to the faithless. And so it will be in the end times. Many people will be deceived.
